The first moments with your baby deserve attention, support, and care. At the Medicover Cluj Maternity Hospital, a team of doctors, midwives, and nurses is by your side during childbirth and throughout the first days with your newborn, in a setting equipped with modern medical facilities.

Packages and Rates

Prices are valid for patients insured through the National Health Insurance House (CAS).

1. Basic Package

The Basic Package is intended for full-term, physiological vaginal delivery.

It includes the standard obstetrics-gynecology and neonatology services outlined below, as well as:

• 3 nights of hospitalization;

• accommodation in a 2-bed room or single room, subject to availability;

• epidural analgesia.

2. Premium Package (with designated midwife)

The Premium Package complements medical care with dedicated support for the mother during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.

It includes the standard obstetrics-gynecology and neonatology services, as well as:

• 3 nights of hospitalization for vaginal delivery or 4 nights for cesarean delivery;

• accommodation in a 2-bed room or single room, subject to availability;

• specific anesthesia/analgesia, depending on the mode of delivery;

• personalized labor and birth assistance provided by a dedicated midwife;

• psychological counseling;

• physiotherapy sessions tailored to the postpartum period;

• specialist consultation for the baby at 4 weeks;

• informational materials on breastfeeding and newborn care, available throughout the hospital stay: videos and brochures.

3. VIP Package

The VIP Package includes all services of the Premium Package and accommodates an accompanying person for the entire duration of the hospital stay.

It includes 3 nights of hospitalization for vaginal delivery or 4 nights for cesarean delivery.

Medical Services Included in All Packages

Maternal Care – Obstetrics and Gynecology

• Monitoring, medical care, and delivery assistance provided by a multidisciplinary team of obstetricians, midwives, and nurses.

• Pre-anesthetic assessment and neonatal consultation at 36 weeks of gestation.

• Medical supplies and consumables required for the mother during hospitalization.

• Follow-up postpartum consultation at 4 weeks after birth.

• Personalized diet, tailored to the attending physician’s recommendations.

Newborn Care – Neonatology

• Participation of the neonatologist, alongside the obstetrician, in the prenatal consultation at 36 weeks in high-risk pregnancies.

• Specialized resuscitation and delivery room care provided by a neonatologist and a neonatal nurse.

• Facilitation of the "Golden Hour": skin-to-skin contact and initiation of breastfeeding within the first hour of life, when the clinical condition of the mother and newborn permits.

• Rooming-in care: mother and infant share the same room.

• Lactation and breastfeeding counseling.

• Hands-on practical session for parents focusing on basic newborn care.

• Monitoring of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia (neonatal jaundice) and phototherapy during the hospital stay, with further follow-up if clinically indicated.

• Prophylaxis of ophthalmia neonatorum in the delivery room.

• Prophylaxis of vitamin K deficiency bleeding (hemorrhagic disease of the newborn).

• Counseling regarding neonatal hepatitis B vaccination and BCG vaccination, according to the National Immunization Schedule.

• National newborn screening for congenital hypothyroidism, phenylketonuria, and cystic fibrosis.

• Newborn supplies: diapers, bodysuits, sleepsuits, hats, bed linens, skin care products, and, if clinically indicated, nutritional formulas.

Neonatal Intensive Care and Additional Costs

If a newborn, whether preterm or full-term, requires admission to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the following additional rates apply:

Nutritional recovery for growth-restricted and preterm infants incurs an additional cost of 800 lei/day of hospitalization.

Additional Investigations and Treatments

Depending on the newborn's clinical condition and progression, additional services may be indicated, billed at the following rates:

Certain medications and blood products may also incur additional costs: pulmonary surfactant, respiratory analeptics, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), prostaglandins, intravenous ibuprofen, intravenous coagulation factors, hepatitis B immunoglobulin, intravenous albumin, and blood products.
