Dr. Emanuel Cata

Dr. Emanuel Darius Căta is a specialist physician and assistant lecturer in the Department of Urology at the "Iuliu Hațieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca.

His residency training was completed under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Nicolae Crișan. He also completed a fellowship between May and November 2021 in uro-oncology and renal transplantation at the Georges Pompidou European Hospital in Paris, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Arnaud Mejean. 

In 2022, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ioan Coman, he obtained the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences (PhD), defending the thesis entitled "Personalized Diagnostic Strategies in Prostate Cancer through the Integration of Multiparametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging and MRI-Targeted Fusion Prostate Biopsy".

His areas of interest include uro-oncology, minimally invasive surgery (3D laparoscopic and robotic), and endourology (urolithiasis, benign prostatic diseases, malignant bladder pathology). He is a member of the European Association of Urology and the Romanian Association of Urology.
