I chose gastroenterology for its complexity and diversity, as it addresses a wide range of pathologies and offers numerous therapeutic options. I consider this specialty to be of crucial importance, situated as it is at the interface between our body's external and internal environments. In the current context, where environmental factors play a predominant role in the development of most oncological and cardiovascular diseases, the relevance of gastroenterology becomes even more evident.

My areas of interest include hepatic pathology and digestive tract disorders, with a particular focus on the gut microbiota. The relationship between the gut microbiota and nutrition is exceptionally important, contributing significantly to disease prevention, promoting longevity, and ensuring healthy aging.

Gastroenterology not only allows me to treat a variety of conditions, but it also gives me the opportunity to work collaboratively with patients to improve their quality of life.
