Prof. Dr. Horatiu Rotar

Prof. Dr. Horatiu Alexandru Rotar holds a subspecialization in head and neck oncological surgery under the auspices of the “International Federation of Head and Neck Oncological Societies” (IFHNOS Global Online Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology and Surgery), as well as advanced expertise in the management of craniomaxillofacial trauma through professional training with AO/ASIF, Davos, Switzerland.

He has extensive experience in the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery, acquired both nationally and internationally through advanced training fellowships and scholarships at prestigious medical and academic centers such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA; Universitätsspital Basel, Switzerland; Hallym University, Seoul, Korea; Gangneung-Wonju National University, Gangneung, Korea; and Dubrava University Hospital, Zagreb, Croatia.

Prof. Dr. Horatiu Alexandru Rotar holds a series of national and international firsts related to the manufacturing and application of patient-specific craniofacial implants and CAD-CAM three-dimensional fabrication technologies. He has directed national and international research projects in the field of 3D technologies and biomaterials used for the manufacturing of custom-made implants. He has authored specialized books as well as numerous ISI and BDI-indexed articles as lead author and co-author. He is the Director of the Department of Postgraduate Studies within the Vice-Rectorate for Residency and Postgraduate Studies at the "Iuliu Hațieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj-Napoca.
