Internal Medicine

Internal medicine is the specialty that approaches the patient as a whole—considering their family medical history, their older or newer complaints, whether bothersome or tolerable, and the multitude of health issues accumulated over a lifetime—and establishes an investigation and treatment plan aimed at optimizing their health status as much as possible.

However, what internists love most is managing cases with obscure, complex, unusually associated, and lingering manifestations that are difficult to categorize into a single organ system disease; and, like detectives, identifying their underlying etiology after extensive workup, naming the condition, and thus providing treatment solutions.
